Dear Young Christian: As you begin another week let me share something that perhaps we have shared before, but which is good to keep in mind as we operate from day to day in a world of sin, sorrow, and distraction: If you want to be distracted … ….LOOK AROUND! If you want to be miserable … ….LOOK WITHIN! If you want to be happy … …… … .LOOK UPWARD! If you want to be satisfied … ……LOOK TO JESUS! If you want to be encouraged … .LOOK AHEAD! With these statements I have enjoyed two verses that stand in stark contrast to each other: “And if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow” (Isaiah 5:30). “They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed” (Psalm 34:5).
