“And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants” (Genesis 40:20).

Kings and queens have traditionally made a celebration on their birthdays, even as far back as the Pharaohs of Egypt, who lived thousands of years ago. Today’s date happens to be the anniversary of the birthday of the late Queen Victoria of England, who was born on May 24, 1819. This date is still celebrated in Britain and some of the countries belonging to the British Commonwealth. She reigned more than sixty-three years, from 1837 to 1901—longer than any previous British monarch.

However, the present Queen of England, Elizabeth II, has already reigned more than seventy years, and as I write this in May, 2022, she is still alive. The only other monarch in modern times to have reigned longer was King Louis XIV of France. He was only five years old when he became king, and he reigned more than seventy-two years, from 1643 to 1715.

But when the Lord Jesus comes to reign as the rightful King, He will reign over this world for 1,000 years. No human king can compare to Him, or His kingdom. When He comes to reign, you and I who are saved will reign with Him. What a wonderful time that will be!
