“Then said I [the Lord Jesus], Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God” (Hebrews 10:7).
This verse is repeated from Psalm 40, and prophetically the Lord Jesus is speaking to God His Father. The Lord Jesus became a man, and came into this world to do the Father’s will. Perhaps you have readily agreed to do the will of someone else, even when it meant you had to make a personal sacrifice. But the Lord Jesus knew that the will of God His Father meant that He would have to go to Calvary’s cross, and suffer for sin. Yet He continued on, whatever the cost, and accomplished the work His Father had given Him to do.
Now, on this the Lord’s Day, He wants us to remember what He has done for us, and all that He suffered in doing the Father’s will. It is a privilege for us to do this for Him.
