“And he [Josiah] did that which was right in the sight of the Lord” (2 Kings 22:2).
“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight” (1 John 3:22).
This is the third option for pleasing. Not self-pleasing, or pleasing others to gain their approval, but doing that which is “right in the sight of the Lord.” Living to please the One who died for us not only is the blessed and happy path but comes with the approval of our Savior. It is a relationship in communion and comes with many blessings and great joy. Whatever we ask we receive of Him? Yes, because in communion with Him, we will ask according to His mind, and He delights to give.
