“And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are not found to give glory to God, save this stranger” (Luke 17:17-18).
In the story that is told in this chapter, verses 11-19, the Lord Jesus had told ten lepers to go and show themselves to the priests. All of them were lepers, and while they were going, they were cleansed of their leprosy. But only one came back to thank the Lord Jesus!
The Lord Jesus really felt it that only one came back. All ten were cleansed, but they could not be bothered to come back and say thank you. But the one who did come back did more than merely saying thank you; he glorified God. He recognized who the Lord Jesus was, and gave glory to God. Do you and I do that, by remembering the Lord Jesus as He has asked us to?
