“Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” (Revelation 1:5-6).
When the Apostle John received the truth given to us in the book of Revelation, he learned much about the judgments that will eventually come upon this world. But before God gave him all this information, He mentions the basis of it all—the work that His beloved Son did on Calvary’s cross. As a result of what the Lord Jesus did on Calvary’s cross for God’s glory and our blessing, God is going to exalt His beloved Son. All unbelievers will be compelled to bow before Him, but those who are under the shelter of His precious blood will reign with Him.
Today, on the Lord’s day, we can remember what He did for us, and think about what He suffered for our sakes. We can remember when He suffered for us, while we look forward to the time when He will be exalted as Head over all things.
