“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory” (Colossians 3:4).
This verse contains a wonderful truth that all of us need to understand and enjoy. It tells us that Christ is our life. What does that mean? It means that when we are saved, we have the same life as the Lord Jesus Christ. We do not have new life independent of Him, but rather, our life is hid with Christ in God. The Lord Jesus has given us His life—a life that can never end.
That means that we can never be lost, and that we are united to Christ forever. When He appears in glory in a coming day, we will appear with Him, for we are forever associated with Him. Whenever God the Father looks at you and me, He sees us as being “in Christ,” and sees us in all the perfection of Christ Himself.
With all the stresses and strains of everyday life, it is easy to forget about our wonderful position in Christ. We all need to remind ourselves of it, and enjoy it!
