Hch. 15:4,22‑23• 4Y llegados á Jerusalem, fueron recibidos de la iglesia y de los apóstoles y de los ancianos: y refirieron todas las cosas que Dios había hecho con ellos.

the apostles.
The care of God over His Church in this matter is most blessed. A conference at Jerusalem He knew would settle the matter absolutely, no matter what prejudices the Jews might have, and would maintain union instead of periling it. That there was bigotry at Jerusalem was true, but if there, of all places, the truth was maintained, it would carry weight universally. (Withstood at Antioch by W.T.P. Wolston)
In Galatians 2, speaking of the same occasion, he states, “I went up by revelation” (vs. 2). (Withstood at Antioch by W.T.P. Wolston)
In reading the Epistle to the Galatians, we see that in reality things were in question that touched Christianity to the quick, that affected its very foundations, the deep principles of grace, of the rights of God, of the sinful condition of man—principles on which the whole edifice of man’s eternal relations with God is founded. (Acts 15 by J.N. Darby)
The question was to be settled for the church, apart from the apostolic authority of Paul. The Apostle must yield before God and His ways. (Acts 15 by J.N. Darby)
Paul and Barnabas themselves were unable to settle the dispute. Self-will is invincible, even for apostles. God had it in His mind to interpose in a much more impressive and efficacious manner. (Acts 15:1-5 by W. Kelly)
All was thus directed under the good hand of God; for the evil was judged in the quarter from whence it emanated, where presumably, not to say notoriously, was its hotbed. (Acts 15:1-5 by W. Kelly)
They may have had the revelation direct as in Acts 16 or through the prophetic intimation of others as before; what is certain is that “according to revelation” {Gal. 2:2} Paul went up, and not merely as a step appointed by others. (Acts 15:1-5 by W. Kelly)

J. N. Darby Translation

A commotion therefore having taken place, and no small discussion on the part of Paul and Barnabas against them, they arranged that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others from amongst them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

W. Kelly Translation

2
Anda when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and questioning with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and some others of them should go up unto Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

T. R. has "therefore" supported by many MSS., but the correct particle "and" has the best support and is clearly right.
