sore boils.{Shechin râ,} supposed to be the {Judham,} or black leprosy, of the Arabs, termed Elephantiasis by the Greeks, from its rendering the skin, like that of the elephant, scabrous, dark coloured, and furrowed all over with tubercles.
This loathsome and most afflictive disease is accompanied with most intolerable itching.

When, in Old Testament times, practically all God’s dealings with men were on an earthly plane, it is evident that such an affliction would be regarded as a particular token of His displeasure—at least by those who had not learned the varied uses of adversity in the school of God.
