The wisdom of women buildeth the house;{HR}But folly plucketh it down with her hands.
He that walketh in his uprightness feareth Jehovah;{HR}But the perverted in his ways despiseth him.
In the fool’s mouth [is] a rod of pride;{HR}But the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
Where no oxen [are], the crib [is] clean;{HR}But much increase [is] by the strength of the ox.
A faithful witness will not lie;{HR}But a false witness breatheth out lies.
A scorner seeketh wisdom;{HR}And [there is] none for him;{HR}But knowledge [is] easy to the intelligent.
Go away from a foolish man,{HR}In whom thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.
The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way;{HR}But the folly of fools [is] deceit.
Fools make a mock at trespass;{HR}But among the upright [is] favour.
The heart knoweth its own bitterness,{HR}And a stranger intermeddleth not with its joy.
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown,{HR}But the tent of the upright shall flourish.
There is a way that seemeth right to a man,{HR}But the end thereof [is] the ways of death.
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful,{HR}And the end of mirth [is] sadness.
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways,{HR}And the good man from himself.
The simple believeth every word,{HR}But the prudent heedeth his going.
The wise one feareth and departeth from evil;{HR}But the foolish is overbearing and confident.
One soon angry dealeth foolishly,{HR}And a man of mischievous devices is hated.
The simple inherit folly;{HR}But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
The evil bow before the good,{HR}And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour;{HR}But the rich have many lovers.
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth;{HR}But he that is gracious to the afflicted, happy [is] he.
Do they not err that devise evil?{HR}But mercy and truth [are] for those that devise good.
In all labour there is profit;{HR}But the talk of the lips [is] only to want.
The crown of the wise [is] their riches;{HR}The folly of the fools [is] folly.
A true witness delivereth souls;{HR}But deceit uttereth lies.
In the fear of Jehovah [is] strong confidence;{HR}And his children shall have a place of refuge.
The fear of Jehovah [is] a fountain of life,{HR}To turn away from the snares of death.
In the multitude of people [is] the King’s glory;{HR}But in the lack of people [is] the ruler’s downfall.
One slow to anger [is] of great understanding;{HR}But the hasty of spirit holdeth up folly.
A sound heart [is] the life of the flesh,{HR}But envy the rottenness of the bones.
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker;{HR}But he that honoureth Him is merciful to the needy.
The wicked is thrust down by his evil doings;{HR}But in his death the righteous trusteth.
Wisdom resteth in the heart of the intelligent;{HR}But [what is] in the inwards of fools is made known.
Righteousness exalteth a nation;{HR}But sin [is] a reproach to peoples.
The King’s favour [is] toward a wise servant,{HR}But His wrath to him that causeth shame.
