{v.20-21} Isaiah had spoken boldly {Isa. 65:1-2}, formally declaring that God should be found by a nation that sought Him not….in a word, that the Gentiles should find Him, and Israel be perverse and disobedient. (Romans 10 by J.N. Darby)
(v.20-21) Thus, from their own Scriptures, Paul shows that there would be this incredible reversal of blessing. When Israel would reject the blessing, by not receiving their Messiah, God would send blessing to the Gentiles! The Lord also taught this in many of His parables (Matt. 21:42-44; 22:8-10; Luke 13:28-30; 14:16-24). (The Responsibility of Man Israel's Present Rejection: Romans 10 by B. Anstey)
