“Remembering Mine affliction and My misery, the wormwood and the gall. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in Me” (Lamentations 3:19-20).
The Lord Jesus suffered on the cross nearly 2000 years ago, yet this verse tells us that He still remembers all that happened there. It is as fresh in His memory as if it happened yesterday. During my lifetime I have known many people who suffered greatly at some time in their life, and who remember it very well. Perhaps they were involved in a bad car accident, or were in a war where they were badly hurt. But no one has ever suffered as much as the Lord Jesus.
He remembers all that happened there at Calvary’s cross, and He wants us to remember Him. We were not there, of course, so we did not see what happened, but the Lord Jesus appreciates it when we remember, with Him, all that He suffered there.
