“J. C.” The teaching of Heb. 5-12 is peculiarly precious, and most gladly would we expatiate upon it, did our space permit. We can merely remark here, that the object of the Holy Ghost in the passage is to encourage our hearts under chastening, by the assurance that it is from the hand of a loving Father who only corrects us for our profit, in order to subdue our indwelling pravity, and to make us, practically and experimentally, partakers of His holiness.
