Jesus Lives

The terrors of the cross are past—
Jesus lives!
Redemption's work, so grand, so vast,
Jesus lives.
Although a crown of thorns He wore
And all man's wicked hatred bore,
Those dreadful suff'rings now are o'er;
Jesus lives.
Captivity is captive led;
Jesus lives!
Death and the grave bear naught of dread,
Jesus lives.
Released from sin and Satan's hold
We soon shall enter joy untold—
With rapt delight His face behold;
Jesus lives.
