If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man.
Have you noticed the vast difference between God’s “measuring stick” and man’s? Today’s verse about the perfect man is a good example. We are encouraged in this world to be the best we can be, to strive for perfection. Rarely, however, is much said about humility or about not offending with our words. The world says: “Put your best foot forward.” God’s principle is to put yourself in the background and care more about others.
