Strangers

The position of the Christian in this world in relation to what is around him just as “pilgrim” refers to what is before him, 1 Pet. 2:1111Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; (1 Peter 2:11). It is the fact of being a pilgrim that makes him a stranger. Christ was “a stranger here” because he was not of this world, and such should His people be also (John 17).
