"That Is All I Want"

Listen from:
A little girl had tried so very hard
To learn that lovely Psalm, the twenty-third;
She read it verse by verse so many times
That “Now,” she thought, “I’m sure of every word.”
“Mother,” she said, “I’ve learned the Shepherd Psalm,
So will you hear me say it, please, today?”
“Yes, darling, I will hear each verse tonight,
Before you go to bed, after you pray.”
The evening came, and girlie’s bedtime too;
After she prayed, she started to recite:
“The Lord is my Shepherd,—that is all I want—”
And then she stopped, for mem’ry failed her quite.
Now, don’t you think in making that mistake
The little girl said something very true? For, having Jesus as your Saviour-Friend,
“That’s all I want” can well be said by you.
