The Name of Jesus.

O FOR a harp to sound His worthy name,
On the vast surface of this spacious globe,
So loud and sweet, that every ear might hear,
And every heart might feel what Jesus means!
No name in heaven pretends to vie with His:
Its awful sound inspires celestial hearts
With blissful rapture, and, with reverence deep,
Fills their adoring powers. Though uttered oft,
Chief note in every strain, it never cloys;
Such mines of rich instruction, and such mines
Of rich delight, does Jesus’ name contain.
