201. We Fly Not Now From That All-seeing Eye

10,10,10,10,10,12.
by J.G. Deck
1
We fly not now from that all-seeing eye,

Which once we shunned, to hide ourselves in night;

The blood that purged our sins has brought us nigh,

To dwell in God’s own love, and walk in light;

Thee, holy, holy, holy Lord, we love,

Whose holy will we now delight to learn and prove.
2
Sin can’t condemn, for grace has justified;

Sin shall not reign, for grace has set us free;

Sin we abhor, since Christ our Surety died;

His grace now rules our souls in liberty;

The grace that has the wondrous work begun

Shall crown with glory when its mighty work is done.
“That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:21)
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” (Romans 12:9)
“By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.” (Hebrews 7:22)
“That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:21)
“Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.” (Romans 8:21)
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
