When the Bible speaks about the day of the Lord, it is a day of fear for the unbelievers. Believers are children of the light. Unbelievers are in the dark. The day of the Lord is coming like a thief in the night to punish those who live in sin and the darkness of unbelief. Christians should not be spiritually asleep. We should watch and expect the Lord Jesus to come at any moment. Until the Lord comes for us, we can live by faith in God, we can love other Christians and we can know by our hope that Christ is coming very soon. Jesus will take believers out of this world before the wrath of God destroys unbelievers and sends them into hell.
It is important to know which brothers in the assembly teach the Word of God and take the lead in the assembly. They do this work for the Lord. We must appreciate them very much for doing this work. If we listen to them, it will help us to be at peace with everyone in the assembly. There are many little things a Christian can do: rejoice, pray, and be thankful for everything all the time. Another verse says, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” This means not to do anything that looks bad to others. We should keep ourselves pure in spirit, soul and body so we are ready for Jesus to come. Remember to pray for the people who serve the Lord. You can serve the Lord too.
