Wherefore hath the Lord brought us into this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? (

And wherefore hath the Lord brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? (Numbers 14:3)
) Such is the line along which a soul out of communion will travel, It first loses the sense of being in God’s hand for good, and finally begins to deem itself in His hands for evil—melancholy progress this!
