664. The Way Side

Matthew 13:4⁴And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: (Matthew 13:4). When he sowed, some seeds fell by the way-side.

The ordinary roads or paths often lead by the side of uninclosed fields; hence it must often happen that the seed thrown by the hand of the sower will be scattered beyond the plowed field, and fall on the beaten path.
