51. Jesus, Our Lord! We Know Thy Name

Jesus, our Lord! we know Thy name,
 
Thy name is all our trust;
 
Thou wilt not put our souls to shame,
 
Nor let our hope be lost.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
“His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” (Revelation 19:12-13)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Firm as Thy life the promise stands,

Then wilt Thou own us each by name
 
Before Thy Father’s face;
 
And in the new Jerusalem
 
Give us our blood-bought place.
