What joy it is to know
Our sins are all forgiven,
Our souls are whiter far than snow,
And we are bound for heaven.
Our souls we tried to save,
Our sins we sought to hide
But Christ Himself our ransom paid,
For us He bled, He died.
We mourned our bitter case,
Our hearts were filled with fear;
But now we glory in God’s grace,
And in our Lord most dear.
Joy to each heart belongs,
In God we will rejoice;
Encompassed with His freedom songs.
To Him we lift the voice.
Be glad then in the Lord,
Ye upright, shout for joy;
God’s perfect love,
His perfect Word
Shall all our hearts employ.
