Eyes are often mentioned in God’s Word. There we learn that
“The Eyes of the Lord”
Nothing done is hid from Him, so that all day, and every day you may say, “Thou God seest me.” (Gen. 16:1313And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? (Genesis 16:13)). All the ways of man are “before the eyes of the Lord” (Prov. 5:2121For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings. (Proverbs 5:21)). Nothing can be hid from them. Even “secret sins” committed in the dark are well known to Him. And for all these things God will bring sinners into judgment (Eccles. 11:99Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. (Ecclesiastes 11:9)), and they will have to give account to Him of all that they have done.
Some, both old and young, who are
“Clean in Their Own Eyes”
“Right in Their Own Eyes”
“The Eyes Opened”
“Our Eyes Are Upon Thee”
But to disbelieve and reject Christ causes
“The Eyes to Be Closed”
“In Hell He Lifted Up His Eyes”
(Luke 16:2323And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Luke 16:23)), tells of the awful end of such a life — in torments, with a great gulf fixed between the soul and heaven — “afar off” from light, and love — from Christ forever.
