Amanda's Amazing Fire Rescue

Listen from:
It was an early morning house fire, and the firefighters were hard at work trying to put out the fire. They soon caught sight of a mother dog racing back and forth into the house. Each time she came back out of the burning house, she was carrying another puppy in her mouth. These puppies were only ten days old, and mother Amanda carried them, one at a time, in her mouth. She set each puppy down in the safest place she could find—a lower open shelf in the side of the fire truck.
The firefighters could hardly believe their eyes as they watched her race back and forth into the burning house, and no one could stop her! She made six trips into the smoke and fire, until all of her puppies were safely away from the fire.
I have a Saviour who loves me and has rescued me from the punishment of fire that I deserve for my sins. His name is Jesus. Is He your Saviour too? If not, He loves you and wants to save you from that punishment too. You see, we are all sinners and face the punishment of fire that we deserve for our sins. Because He loves us so much, He made an amazing and wonderful plan to rescue us, by taking the punishment in our place.
Amanda was focused on one thing—to rescue her puppies no matter how many trips it took to go back into the burning house. The firemen tried to keep a little water spray on her to keep her fur from catching on fire. However, her fur did get a little singed on her back end, forehead and the lower part of her legs. But that didn’t slow her down; she bravely stuck with the job until she had carried out every one of her puppies. Then she lay down beside them on that shelf to nurse them, protecting them with her body. What a loving and caring mother dog Amanda was!
Jesus is a loving and caring Saviour for sinners. He knew we couldn’t save ourselves from the punishment of fire we face for our sins. He stepped in and willingly died on the cross, after bearing God’s punishment for the sins of every person who would come to Him to be rescued. Then He rose from the dead and now lives in heaven where He’s waiting for you to let Him save you. Have you come to Him, admitting that you are a sinner and that you are sorry for your sins? He is offering to save you right now. He tells us in His Word, the Bible, “Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:3737All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37)). There’s no safer place to be than in the loving arms of Jesus.
Amanda and her six puppies were taken to an emergency veterinary service to be checked over. Aside from one puppy being treated for burns, the entire family is alive and well, thanks to the bravery of Amanda, an amazing mother dog.
If you’ve let Jesus rescue you from the punishment of fire for your sins by accepting Him as your Saviour, He has a place reserved for you in heaven. What a happy future you’ll have with Him when your life on earth is over.
