A Christian had been neglecting the week night meeting. He was visited by a servant of Christ who sought to bring before him the truth of the Word, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Heb. 10:2525Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25).
He went to the fireplace, where the embers were glowing brightly on the hearth. He took a live coal and set it in a place off by itself. Together they watched as it changed from the red glow to a cold, black mass. His Christian friend then remarked: “You need not say another word; I’ll be there on Wednesday evening.”
