In the Bible vagabond has the original meaning of fugitive or wanderer (Gen. 4:12¹²When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. (Genesis 4:12); Psa. 109:10¹⁰Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places. (Psalm 109:10); Acts 19:13¹³Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. (Acts 19:13)).
