Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Judas Iscariot was a disciple of the Lord, and yet he was not really a true friend. His kiss of pretended friendship was but a signal to the soldiers to take this man captive - He was the One that the Jews wanted to get rid of. Judas’s sign of friendship was the signal for capture. And the suffering and death born by Jesus on the cross after His arrest only attest to the fact of His great faithfulness. He is the true Friend. Judas was an enemy who betrayed innocent blood for a few pieces of silver.
