WHAT THE SHEPHERD IS FOR THE SHEEP:—

Their leader... John 10:3, 4³To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. ⁴And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. (John 10:3‑4).

Their door... ver. 7.

Their lover to death. ver. 11.

Him Who speaks to them,

Who knows them (ver. 27); Who gives His life for them (ver. 15), and Who gives them eternal life (ver. 28) Who seeks for them and finds them, each one, and carries each one home rejoicing (Luke 15:4, 5, 6⁴What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? ⁵And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. (Luke 15:4‑6)).
