At least one of the brothers had a conscience about what they were planning. It would seem that Reu-ben must not have been in on the original plot but found out about it later. Reuben was making up a plan to save Joseph. But it didn’t work out, as we shall see, at least not the way Reuben wanted. One lesson here that we need to learn is that if you find yourself against a group plan that you can see will lead to sinful behavior - stand against it - be verbal. Don’t be ashamed to stand up for what is right against what is wrong. We need more people with the courage of Reuben.
