But let us remind you, dear friend, that though you cannot understand it, you are reverently to believe it. The Father is God; the Son is God; and the Holy Ghost is God. Did you ever hear those last words of a dying idiot? “I see! I see! I see!” “What do you see?” said a bystander. “I see three in One, and One in three, and they are all for me, for me.” Think of those words.
97. “J. S.,” Exeter. Scripture is very plain as to the manner in which christian women should be attired, not only at the Lord’s table, but at all times. Surely in this, as in all beside, there is urgent need of the exercise of a tender conscience—a godly subjection to the authority of God’s word. If Christians will not give heed to the exhortation of the Holy Ghost, they are not likely to pay much attention to the pages of a magazine. One of the special wants of the moment is thorough submission to the veritable teachings of holy scripture. Where the heart is under the direct government of the word all will be right; where it is not, there will be nothing right.

(1 Corinthians 11:30), refers to bodily sickness and death, under the governmental dealings of God. As to books and tracts, your best plan would be to apply to the publishers for a catalog from which you could select. May the great Shepherd and Bishop of souls sustain you both by His own direct and powerful ministry! Keep close to Him. Listen to His voice.
