Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: (2 Peter 2:14)
They have a heart trained in covetous practices.

This verse is talking about unsaved people, but we live in a society that affects us the same way. We are trained - through school and college, and in the work place - to be -covetous. “Go for the top!” is the world’s cheer. And in doing so, the Lord is pushed out, He takes a lower place in our life, while position, possessions, and power become the driving force in our life. Beware of covetousness, young Christian. God calls it “idolatry”.
