That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: (Genesis 14:23)
), and now God says to him “I am thy exceeding great reward.” Protector and reward. Notice Which his reward was!
V.2-16 Abram wanted a son and heir. Was he going too far in speaking to God in this way? Verse 6 shows us how close he was to the Lord. God loves to hear us ask Him for things which are for His glory and our good.
