God’s people are to rid themselves of the people of the land. They were not to keep any of their filthy habits. They were to utterly destroy their gods (
Deut. 9:5
5
Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (Deuteronomy 9:5)
), and they were to enjoy God! Read what God says about some believers (1 Thess. 1:9).

Phil. 4:13
13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13)
).

Philippians 1:21
21
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)
.
V.9 What kind of a God is He? Turn to
Psalm 119:138
138
Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful. (Psalm 119:138)
and you will find that the Word of God is described by this same word. Do you see what that word is? Now turn to the New Testament (2 Tim. 2:13). Even when we do not believe, He remains.
V.12-24 What blessings!
V.25-26 What warnings!
