A glimpse of God’s tender love.
V.6-8 A battlement is like a fence. We believers are to be careful that we don’t teach or say to other believers things which are not according to God’s Word. If so we are causing them to fall off the roof of our house.
V.9-12 God hates mixture. Satan constantly is telling us that mixture is broadmindedness and tolerance (2 Cor. 6:14-18). Disobedience blurs our spiritual eyes.
V.13-30 “Why would God inspire these words?” Well, turn to 1 Cor. 10:11 and Rom. 15:44For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4) to be sure that He has inspired them. To teach us what our hearts are capable of, if left to ourselves. These are the moral depths to which a believer can plunge if we compromise with truth (1 Cor. 5:8).
