V.1-12 Judah was Jacob’s fourth son, but replaced Reuben as the royal tribe from which the Messiah was to come (Gen. 49:1010The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. (Genesis 49:10)). Therefore, Judah is the first tribe to get its inheritance, and they get the largest portion of all the tribes.

If you and I are obedient to God’s Word, we will receive a greater reward, for it’s going to be in heaven, from the Lord Himself (Rev. 22:1212And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (Revelation 22:12)).
