Be not afraid, only believe.
This was the message that Jesus gave to Jairus and his wife after the death of their 12-year-old daughter. Sickness had led to death. Death brings fear. Jesus gives power to overcome fear. John says in his letter, “Perfect love casts out fear.” Jesus was that perfect love. And so Jairus and his wife watch in amazement as their daughter is raised back to life by the Creator of life, the Lord Jesus Christ.
