Shackles for the feet. It is said of Joseph that his feet were hurt with fetters (Psa. 105:1818Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: (Psalm 105:18)). They are spoken of as being made of brass and of iron (Judg. 16:2121But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.
