In John 15 it is fullness of joy through obedience. John 15:9-11⁹As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. ¹⁰If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. ¹¹These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (John 15:9‑11).

In John 16 it is fullness of joy through answered prayer. John 16:24²⁴Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:24).

In John 17 it is fullness of joy through communion. John 17:11-13¹¹And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. ¹²While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. (John 17:11‑13).
