She of her penury [poverty] hath cast in all the living that she had.
The Lord was watching people put money into the temple collection box. Rich people cast in plenty. Then this poor widow threw in two small coins, which were all she had. She had a choice to keep one for herself, but she gave both. The Lord appreciated her gift much more than the gifts from those that were rich, because it was no sacrifice for them. Sometimes it’s really hard to give money to the Lord, because times are tough financially. But how about giving yourself? You can do that. If you can’t give money, then give yourself and your talent for Him to use in His work.
