If Christ is at the right hand of God to make intercession for me, I see Him there as the anchor of my soul within the veil: and if the effect of tearing 'open all in my soul, and showing me my wretchedness, be to show me that He who does it is there for me, conforming to Himself to make me like Himself; is it not most precious?
I only know what a poor thing I am, when I got inside the veil; but there, I can be talking to God about Christ, saying, "Is He not my Savior? Is He not my Life-giver? Is not all to be found in Him? Is He not the portion of all who believe in Him?" If you can talk to God of what Christ is to you, and God is looking at that Christ as the answer to all your difficulties, can you go away unsatisfied? Impossible!
