Welcome everyone to the Gospel meeting.
Maybe we could open this evening by singing #9.
Come every soul wise.
Person.
I'm a native grass while I grind the thickening hidden hand of the bird.
Oh, the way I tell them all the way to drive Terminal Mall to May Drive. And now it was an idiot. It was a beautiful behavior in your mouth.
Uh.
No, no, no, no. They don't say drive to him all the way to drive.
Baby, here you go. Say he'll say he can give her anything. I don't say anything. Give her an alcohol.
Umm.
Where y'all is your mother's love.
Oh my God, she'll remember when we drive with him and someone may drive crying now.
And we can just pry it on the Lord for His help.
Oh, I'd like to start the, uh, meeting this evening with a question that struck me today as we were reading the Bible.
Noticed it in my prayer.
If you were alone in this room or any place tonight with just God.
New.
Would you have feet?
Exceedingly important question to answer.
You know, the whole message that we have today is about how you can have faith with God.
You know, from the very beginning, without anything, they no longer had news of God and they had to be driven out of that garden. They felt ashamed to be in God's presence and naked before him. And you know, that's where this meeting starts tonight. I don't know the individual hearts of everyone in this room. You know, you may only be.
Under 10 years old.
Have you ever asked yourself that question? Do I have peace with God?
Maybe you're a grandparent here tonight and you come to the gospel meeting many times before and you've heard it.
00:05:02
Tonight I'd like to speak about.
Forgiveness.
And I've just been impressed with this in our readings in Rio Ferry and also UMM, just in my own.
About the importance of forgiveness, you know, there's a verse and it was quoted earlier today, it's in Isaiah 59, and it says your sins have separated between you and your God. Maybe just I'll just read it. You don't need to turn to it. It says there it says, but your iniquities have separated between you and your God and you your God and your sins have hid.
His face from you that he will not hear.
You know the only thing.
That can give you peace with God. You can have to have assurance of the forgiveness of your sins and.
Have your sins forgiven through what the Lord Jesus did. And that's what I want to talk about this evening. Forgiveness specifically, you don't forgiveness.
Is something that we all can appreciate. Maybe I've made a mistake. Maybe the hotel has didn't have this room quite ready. You know, we can forgive them for that, can't we? You know, there's a lot of marriages that are broken because of lack of forgiveness. Forgiveness, you know, there's a lot of loss.
Over maybe it's two against the cottage or how do you think it's split up because of lack of forgiveness and you know sometimes it barely didn't be upset with someone.
But tonight I want to consider.
God.
And me and God in you.
Because.
That has put a gulf between us that if it's not taken away, none of us can have the insurance that will be with them for all eternity. The first verse that I'd like to look at is our first verse is is in Exodus chapter 32.
So I wanted to talk specifically about forgiveness from sin.
You know in Exodus 32 Moses came down from the mountains with the 10 commandments.
And uh.
Just to back up a little bit.
The children of Israel said to the Lord, whatever you do will do it. God gave you 10 commandments. And we find out in this chapter, I'm going to talk a little bit later, that they just couldn't possibly keep it.
To sin, as I understand it, I heard this through another person. It's it's an A term that came from archery to miss the mark. If I clock on the wall over there with the target and I was to take an arrow and shoot at it and I missed the mark, that would mean that I where the term sin comes from. Well, God had given Moses.
These 10 commandments written on a table of stone.
And that was like the target, but, you know, before Moses even got down from the mountains.
They had broken the 1St and therefore all of the 10 commandments.
They had created a golden calf and they were working again, you know, Moses Wasab said. He took that those 10 grams and smashed them on the ground. And that's where I want to start at the end of Exodus 32.
Moses felt terrible about this.
Umm and he says, he says in verse 30, he says it came to pass on the moral that says 32 verse 30, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up unto the Lord, her adventure. I shall make an atonement for your sins. And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, all the people of sin, a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now if thou will forgive their sins, and if not.
Blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou was written.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out.
Therefore, now go and I'm just going to stop there. So Moses tried to intercede for the people here. And you know, Moses wasn't perfect either.
But the Lord said here it's a very remarkable statement. He says, Who, whoever ascend against me, Him will I blot out of my mind. It shows the seriousness.
00:10:00
Ascend.
Seriousness and you know I'm a Sinner, I'll readily acknowledge that and you know I think everyone in this room there's a verse that says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and the first says the wages of sin is death. This is a problem every single person here has and we.
You know, I'd like to flip over because the first thing I want to talk about is forgiveness in the Old Testament. You know, this was before Jesus had come and you're going to find out he's the glorious theme, the one who is able to forgive sin. So let's just go over to access to Leviticus chapter 4. You know, in the Old Testament, and this was given to the children of Israel just after what we just read.
So, you know, it's interesting, I just wanted to know what the common denominator in order to have forgiveness of sins was. So I'd just like to read in Leviticus, umm, chapter 4.
Verse one it says in the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord, concerning the things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them. If the priest that is anointed to do sin according to the sin of the people, then let him bring for his sin which he has sinned, a young bullet without blemish under the Lord, to bring the Bullock under the door of the Tabernacle, and the congregation before the Lord.
Shall lay his hand upon the bullet's head.
And kill the bullet before the Lord. And the priest is anointed. Shall take the bullet's blood, bring it to the Tabernacle of the congregation. The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and shall sprinkle the blood seven times before the Lord, before the veil of the sanctuary.
So this is if a soul send and it's referring here to a priest, but later on, I just want to read in every one of these examples. If they send, they had to take an animal recently to put his hand on the animal's head. And uh, that sin was the animal was, umm, killed. Blood was shedding and then they would have pain forgiveness. Let's just look at the verse 13 so that the whole congregation of Israel sinned through ignorance.
And the thing?
Be hid from the eyes of the assemblies. They have done whatsoever some somewhat against any of the commandments which were concerning things which should not be done. Are guilty. When the sin which they have sinned against it is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullet for the sins. Bring it before the Tabernacle of the congregation. It goes on and talks with the blood being shed. And then it says in verse 20, the end of the verse. And it shall be forgiven them. If you flip over to verse 22. So I was talking about if the congregation sentences when a ruler.
Passive and done somewhat through ignorance.
And then again there was an animal that had to die, his blood had to be shelved, shed. And then at the end of verse 26 it says and it shall be forgiven him. And then in verse 27 it says if anyone of the common people things.
Through ignorance and the blood had to be shed an animal. It isn't the end of verse 20. Sorry. 31 it shall be forgiven him.
Chapter ends up with the same color.
You know, in every one of these cases.
When they send this animal had to die and the blood would be shed. You know, I don't think until the people from Israel knew why that had to happen, but that was how they had forgiveness of sins with God.
Or forgiveness of sin. And this was not comprehensive. This was only if they accidentally sinned or they sinned through ignorance, as it says in this chapter. It wasn't if they deliberately did.
Well, you know, that's a little bit bleak because if I look at my own life, I realize that there have been times when I have deliberately.
Deliberately.
And you know, I'm separated from God, so I'd just like to read in the New Testament. I'd like to turn. So this was before the Lord Jesus was born during the Lord's life. I'd like to read a couple accounts there. So if we turn over to Luke.
Chapter 5.
So this was after the Lord Jesus, Lord, and you know those people in Israel knew.
00:15:02
Those verses in the Old Testament vote forgiveness of sin.
So I'd like to read in Luke chapter 5 and actually start at verse 16. Thanks to get the context here says he withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed. And it came to pass on a certain day as he was teaching that there were Pharisees and doctors of the lost sitting by which were come out of every town of Galilee, a Judea, Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
And behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy, and they thought means to bring him in, and to lay him before them, and when they could not find but what by what way they might bring him?
In because of the multitude that they went upon the housetop and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
And when he saw their face, he said unto him, Man thy sins.
Our forgiveness.
In the strides and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blossoming? Who can forgive sin but God alone?
But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, the answering said unto them, What reason ye in your heart, whether is it easier to say that I since be forgiven thee, or say, Rise up the law, but that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth?
To forgive.
In 10 under the sick of a palsy and of the arrived take off night coats go into night, and immediately he rose up before them, took out that Ronnie lay and departed to his own house floor, and they were all amazed.
And they glorify God in their skills and fear, saying we have seen strange things and.
Well.
The Lord in his life brought to clarity.
Something that is remarkable.
And that was that he had the power to begin sin.
It explicitly says here it's his, but that ye may know that the sons may have a power upon the earth hearing.
Had a tremendous crowd of people. You have people from Judea, Galilee, Jerusalem, all the towns around. Yeah, the Pharisees, you, the doctors in law. They were so framed in a room nobody else could fit in.
He had a man who was sick.
Seen because of sin.
Let him down to the roof, and the Lord makes it clear.
You know, that's a very important thing for us to think of those things, because if you did not feel comfortable to be alone with God, there is one person who can give you.
He has power to forgive sins, and he let them know that here he hadn't died yet, but he let them know that he had power to forgive me. He has a beautiful, beautiful thing and I'd like to turn. This happens again a little bit later. Rob mentioned this earlier. We had it in our reading not too long ago in in the ferry in Luke Chapter 7.
Similar situation.
It gets a little bit different. One of the Pharisees invites the Lord over for dinner.
And someone comes to know whom they're separated from their God.
Verse 36 And one of the Pharisees desired him, that he would eat with him.
And he went into the Pharisees house and sat down to meet, and behold a woman in the city, which was a Sinner.
When she knew that Jesus had a Kingdom, Pharisees had brought an alabaster boxer boy again.
Stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
Kiss his feet and anointed family. Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, his faith within himself, saying This man, if he were a frost, would have known who and what manner of woman this was. It touches him, for she's a Sinner.
Jesus answering, said unto him, Simon.
I have somewhat to say unto thee.
There is a certain creditor which had two debtors, 1 owed 500 pence.
00:20:05
In the other fifty, and when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me, therefore, which of them will love him most?
I haven't answered, and said, I suppose he to whom he forgave the most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Simon, you saw this woman.
I entered into thine house, but thou gave us me no water for my feet. She can.
Wash my feet of tears and wipe them from the hair of her head. Thou gave me no kiss but this woman since the time that I came in my feet.
My head was oiled out. It's not annoying.
This woman has anointed my peaceful voice.
Wherefore I say unto these, For sin Germany are forbidden.
For she loved much, but to whom little is forgiven, the same loving little he say unto her, Thy sin are forgiven.
A day that sat at 8 with him began to say within themselves, who is this? The forgiveness is also.
And he said to the woman, Thy face, and same day go and eat.
Another remarkable story. Here you have this moment. She knew she was a Sinner. She knew. She was separated from God. She knew.
And you know, he openly says he forgiven and even talks to this parasite. You know that Pharisee needed to be forgiven too.
This is much as that Lady neither of them in the little story of the Lord Jesus told who painted that what they owe and you know I'm looking out tonight. You know, maybe there's somebody older here who doesn't really think they're that bad. Maybe they come to watch the golf tour meetings. Maybe they're.
Kids, umm, are, are saved. Maybe there's a child here who their their parents are saved. They just don't think that they quite need it.
You know, it's a very solid position to be in, this Pharisee Simon, he needed it just as badly.
Exactly. But you know this lady, what happened?
Necessity go he was in a better position. Time enough to decision, you know.
There wasn't anything that she had done. It was what the Lord had done.
The people sitting there realize in both of these stories, I think, because they knew what it took.
For sins to be forgiven, and that was the blessing.
And that 10 off frequency.
Recognized that it would have seemed almost blasphemous for the Lord to say he could forgive him like he was.
And God himself, you know.
Beautiful to realize that the Lord Jesus is pointing to himself as the one who forgives him. I'd like to turn over now to.
Luke 22.
Continuing with your forgiveness of sins during the Lord's life.
Sorry, loop 23.
You know the Lord Jesus.
Had the power to forgive sins. And he He made it known to those who would. Well, he made it known to everyone. There were only a few who really accepted it, but he knew.
That he would have to lay down his life.
To take the punishment for those in itself.
Any women had what, some people going? You know what's remarkable?
The Lord is falsely accused. He was the only one.
We never missed the target.
They got it, got standards.
Never miss it. And you know they cook them, and they crucified Him, and you know when he was on that cross.
What does he say? And I just want to note this with regards to forgiveness.
00:25:03
Says verse 34 of Luke 23. Then said Jesus father, forgive them.
Here you have.
Only from the first person. And these people were treating him horribly. He was completely falsely accused. He was beaten to a pulp. He was going to be crucified.
And yet it hurt when I get, you know.
I can't comprehend that.
But the very one who could forgive him makes this statement here and you know it's been said that it took it from murder to manslaughter and you know Israel is safe dearly for crucified Lord. No, we're all guilty of what the Romans did everyone and in any problems. The same thing would happen today. But you know I just.
Think of how the Lord Jesus had not heard of love toward sinners even when He was in the middle of going to that cross. What does it say? Later in the chapter it says verse 44. It was about the 6th hour and there was darkness over all the earth until the 9th hour.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was red.
You know, the sky went black.
God punished the Lord Jesus.
It is everyone who took their cups.
I can't comprehend what that was, but he did it. You know, in the Old Testament when there was no sacrifices were made. It was like a check that was written that would would post dated with dates when the work was going to lay down his life look forward to that day before.
Tonight, the Gospel, the whole purpose of this message.
How are you if there is forgiveness for you know, there is a man at the cross and I'll just mention this briefly.
But he knew that the Lord Jesus never missed the mark. He could say that a few verses later as you watch the Lord suffer and die and make those statements and time to go dark. But he said now in the centurion of the verse 47 of of Luke 23, when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God saying certainly this is right.
Now he recognized that. Thank you.
Not one of us.
You know, it's a remarkable thing. Well, I just want to go on that. And during the Lord's life, you know, the gospel hadn't really fully been understood by those at that point. The Lord made it clear that he could see his sin. But you know, the apostle Paul, he goes out to the whole, it used to be just Israel, but the gospel went over to the whole world. And you know, it's a beautiful verse. I love this verse. It's in Acts 13.
This is when the Gospel goes out for the first time in Antioch Obsidia, which is, uh, in Greece today, I guess.
And uh.
Black 13.
Verse 38, You know, Paul was so excited that he could go out with a message. Now that was different than anything that could have been preached earlier.
And he says, here in Acts 1338, he says, Be it known unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this man.
Is preached unto you the forgiveness of sin, and by him all the beliefs are justified from all things from which he could not be justified by the law.
This message.
That we now have as a result of the fact the Lord Jesus died on the cross and shed his blood.
Means that we can preach the forgiveness of sins, not just of those things that we do accidentally. But it says here all that believe that anybody are justified from all things which he could not be justified.
An incredible idiot.
A free office.
For us, that separation between US and God, to be removed so that we can.
That is tremendous, tremendous thing. If you turn over to Romans with Paul is unfolding the gospel.
Romans, chapter 4.
Verse seven, he said he recognized what a wonderful thing it was to have forgiven his sins, and he says in Romans 4, verse seven, he says blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven. Who?
00:30:07
Sins are covered. Blessed it is to the man to whom the Lord will not impute.
You know if you turn over to.
Quickly.
In season we have all the wonderful things God has given those who have been forgiven. But what did he say there?
Says in a fusion one verse seven very similar verses in caution will turn to whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sin according to the riches.
Of his grace.
So here now, after the ****** he died and written again, gone to heaven. We have a message that Paul went and preached to the whole world about forgiveness and safety.
And you know, it is a tremendous, tremendous, it is a tremendous thing to know yourself together. You know, all it takes is.
You know.
I hope that every man, woman and child will destroy.
I can honestly say it is.
You know I go to work.
You know, I'd like to just read one more verse and solve or two more verses, one in Psalm 86 verse 5.
His lawyer is waiting.
This is on 86% for now. O Lord our do it and ready.
To begin and plenty of mercy and all that He is ready forgive you.
You know he's ready and he's waiting.
Have you taken him up on that? Such a gift.
You know we're gonna be talking with this later. Enrollment 5 and by one man hit that Sergeant in the world. That's a separated, but it also says that by one man.
Umm, the Lord is the most of that child is a beautiful chopper in this place. You know what? It's just. And the Lord is just waiting. He's waiting for the youngest child. He's waiting for the oldest battles in the world with us in the future.
I'd like to read another verse in First John.
And beautiful first.
For someone extremely well known.
Start at the end of her 7th.
Is the blood.
Of Jesus Christ.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves in the truth of God is we confess our sins.
Faithful and just forgive us.
Not only.
If we can pass our sins, is he faithful? He's also just to do it because our sins have been faithful and is a remarkable thing. Somebody else can't do it for me. Moses couldn't do it for the children of Israel because he wasn't.
You know you have all those beautiful verses in the Bible thou shalt pretend to sign out to your teeth, and thy hearts regard.
You know, we just confess to go that we are a Sinner, that our sins are separated from Him.
And we believe it's allergies. Aside from that is an incredible thing. And you know, I can't convey to you, you know, in your heart where you stand.
An even man in his desire didn't save you, you know. I hope everyone could.
00:35:05
We're going to close shortly.
The implications of that are.
You know we now have access, our sins are forgiven, we have peace with God into the very presence.
Something that was impossible in the past.
Incredible, incredible thing. But if you don't know the idea.
Will be banned from the presence of the military, you know, says in Revelation when it talks there, it says there will be nothing that comes into the pilot. Sin is what has ruined this world. If we look around we see the wars, cancer and the fighting and the society heading in a direction that is.
Almost incomprehensible. You know, we can be thankful for what we have in this, but the consequences of turning our back on.
And here he has this wonderful offer to us. I hope that everyone here.
You know, if we're believers.
And we recognize I'm not going to go into this tonight, but if you read God forgiveness in 1918 or mercy kind of one to another and their heart is giving one another. Even thoughts of Christ they come to give you grasp it in our heart like that woman who is a Sinner.
It will change us. You know how we act towards other people.
Stealthy or something is different than I hope that everyone here tonight has has.
Up forward of the Savior and know that this things are forgiven. Maybe we could just send them clothing.
#10.
Bang Bang, bang, bang.
Bang, please don't surprise me.
Oh God.
Come here again because I didn't hear my name. Danger.
00:40:03
Soul of the man's landing singing Kitty Kitty Kitty shower. I won't be able to drink in your eyes.
He is away to the best and pay me some flourishing and there's very drivers and magazines.
Tiring.
Part of the Flying Heart, the way all of her.
Uh, Rain City evening Friday and then there by everything.
Come down to every day.
And you've never heard anything. And then small woman's banging shall be crying.
