A well, or more correctly a spring, near which Gideon encamped, and at which apparently he tested his army by their manner of drinking the water (Judg. 7:11Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. (Judges 7:1)). Identified with Ain Jalud, 32° 33' N, 35° 21' E; connected with which is a large pool, at which many might drink at the same time.
