Heavenly Things

“Seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. It is a great thing to remember—what Christians too easily forget—that we are called to the enjoyment of heavenly things, and we live by the revelation of them. God has not introduced grace and His Son and Spirit to make us get along easily in this world—it was not needed—but to bring us to the enjoyment of heavenly things, and to live in them.
Christ in us "the hope of glory" (Col. 1:2727To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (Colossians 1:27)) was an entirely new thing, and not merely the long-promised glory on earth that has yet to be brought in, but the heavenly glory—glory with Christ above.
