By the breath of God frost [ice] is given. . . . Out of whose womb came the ice? . . . The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
Most everyone agrees there was an ice age. Some scientists believe there were many of them. Most believe the last ice age was 6,000 to 10,000 years ago. Now what does the Bible say? The first mention of snow and ice is found in the book of Job. Job clearly wrote about vast ice sheets. The only “ice age” that the Bible speaks of occurred soon after the flood. Job, who lived shortly after the flood, wrote what God described to him. As students of the Bible, and for those at school, we need to first know and believe what God says, and then carefully discern what men may guess about concerning the world’s history and geology.
