A SHORT time previous to the death of a poor invalid who had been recently converted, a gentleman who was in the habit of visiting him, and manifested much kindness to his family, called upon him.
Whilst speaking of his approaching death, he said to the sick man, “It’s a very solemn thing to die.”
“I don't know, sir, about its being solemn," replied the sufferer," but I believe when I leave this world of wickedness, I shall go to a place of happiness, and be with Christ, for I believe in Him; His blood has washed me from my sin, and I'VE NOTHING TO FEAR (see

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (Revelation 1:5‑6)
