Kathy had just accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour. Her Sunday school teacher gave her a memory verse, “We love Him, because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:1919We love him, because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19). Kathy already knew it pretty well by the time she left for home.
Later on in the week the teacher saw Kathy again and asked her if she could remember the verse.
“No, I’ve forgotten it,” said Kathy, “but I know what it was about.”
“Tell me then,” replied her teacher.
“It was that Jesus loved me first and then I loved Him afterward.”
