Joint Tenancy

A DYING judge said to a pastor, “Do you know enough about law to understand what is meant by joint tenancy?”

“No,” was the reply; “I know nothing about the law; I know a little about grace, and that satisfies me.”

“Well,” said the judge, “if you and I were joint tenants on a farm, I could not say to you, ‘That is your hill of corn, and this is mine; that is your blade of grass, and this mine,’ but we should share alike in everything on the place. I have just been lying here and thinking with unspeakable joy that Christ Jesus has nothing apart from me; that everything He has is mine, and that we will share alike through all eternity.”

“The glory which Thou gavest Me I have given them.” John 17:22²²And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (John 17:22).

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne.” Rev. 3:21²¹To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. (Revelation 3:21).

“The Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Gal. 2:20²⁰I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20).
