Our life is but a shadow, a little poof and it’s gone, like a flower that by summer’s end has withered and died. God could not accept anything of this world in payment for our sins. So we were not redeemed with things like silver or gold. They tarnish and become spoiled too. No, we were redeemed with something whose value will last for eternity - the blood of Christ.
